Juneteenth on Nantucket: A Celebration of Black Liberation

Join us for an unforgettable Juneteenth Celebration honoring freedom, resilience, and joy within Nantucket’s Black community, Thursday, June 19th, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM at the African Meeting House, 29 York Street.

This high-energy, family-friendly event will feature live performances, delicious refreshments by Nantucket Island Creations, and activities for kids and families to enjoy throughout the day.

We’re proud to showcase local Black-owned vendors, highlighting the creativity and entrepreneurship that continues to shape our island community.

Don’t miss the special screening of Nantucket Historic Coloured Cemetery: Stories Told by Nantucketers' — a powerful film honoring the legacies of those who came before us and the stories that continue to inspire generations.

Whether you're dancing to the rhythm of live music, discovering handmade goods, or reflecting on our shared history, this event promises to be an impactful and uplifting celebration of Black liberation and culture.

All are welcome — come celebrate with us!

Brought to you by Nantucket Cultural District, Museum of African American History Boston & Nantucket, Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce and the Nantucket Historical Association.
