Start your day inspired with a unique program that blends the worlds of art, science, and storytelling. The Maria Mitchell Association is thrilled to welcome two special guests whose work beautifully captures the intersection of environmental awareness and creative expression:
Kike Calvo, award-winning National Geographic photographer, will share insights and imagery from his global career in travel and nature photography. Through breathtaking visuals and powerful stories, Kike explores the beauty of the natural world and the urgent need to protect it.
Holly Greenberg, interdisciplinary artist and educator, will present her poignant project focused on birds that perish from collisions with tall buildings. Holly transforms tragedy into tribute, honoring these birds by creating delicate sculptural models that serve as both memorials and calls to action.
This engaging workshop is perfect for anyone interested in conservation, visual storytelling, and the powerful role art can play in shaping our understanding of the environment.
Children ages 12 and up are welcome.
